2024 Sustainability
Achievements
In addition to our targeted sustainability commitments, we have
also continued to progress other initiatives to drive sustainability
across our organisation, in our communities and with our residents.
Accessibility and Green Space
Green Living Pilot
Accessibility continues to be a key priority
for us, ensuring that all our developments
provide convenient access to transport links
and essential services, supporting sustainable
transportation and improving our residents’
quality of life. We also provide gardens/green
space across all houses.
Developed in partnership with United Utilities,
following analysis of water usage across a
number of our schemes, we launched a Green
Living programme to promote eco-friendly
practices and encourage residents to adopt a
more sustainable lifestyle, which included:

Go-Green Gifts:created a new sustainability
package with products that support water
and energy conservation. The Go-Green
gifts include water-saving items, co-created
with United Utilities, as well as energy saving
items - reminding residents to make ecoconscious choices daily and encourage
behavioural change.

To further drive positive changes, we
provided Green Living training across the
Ascend team to offer Green Living home
audits to residents. Working with and
supporting residents, these consultations
offer guidance on reducing water and
energy usage, waste reduction and overall
sustainable living.

These sessions are offered at various
touchpoints through our residents’ journey,
both in-person and virtually.
Community Volunteering
We continue to actively participate in community
volunteering initiatives. During 2024, the GIM
team completed litter picking across one of
our local communities, demonstrating our
commitment to environmental stewardship.
Diversity, Equality
and Inclusion Training
We implemented mandatory DEI training
for all GIM employees, promoting awareness,
respect, and inclusive practices.
